Round Table

On Friday, December 14, 2018, at 14:00 in the Large lecture hall of the Jožef Stefan Institute, a round table will be held on issues related to women in science and technology. The main topics of the event will be:

  • Share of women with respect to pedagogical habilitation
  • Representation of women in managerial and program committees
  • Need for mobility in a scientific career
  • Problems of the occurrence of positive discrimination
  • Influence of motherhood on a career
  • Importance of social and cultural norms in choosing a scientific / technological profession

The round table will attended by:

  • Prof. Mateja Jamnik (professor, Department of Computer Science and Technology, University of Cambridge)
  • Assoc. Prof. Matjaž Konvalinka (Professor, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana)
  • Assoc. Prof. Gregor Papa (Department Head, Department of Computer Systems, Jožef Stefan Institute)
  • Martina Vuk (State Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Sport)
